Lactation Counseling Session

Service Description

What to expect: ~ I will observe baby's latch, positioning, and behavior at the breast/chest. We will practice skin to skin with you and your infant while exploring positioning that feels supportive, comfortable, and functional for you and your baby. ~In addition to learning about your and your baby's health history, we will discuss your breast/chestfeeding goals, frequency of feedings, typical behavior before, during, and after a feeding at breast/chest/alternative feeding device, diaper outputs per 24 hours, and baby's weight gain/loss since birth. ~If you are using a breast pump, we will discuss frequency of pumping, type of pump(s), flange size, and comfort while pumping. ~Any questions or concerns you have will be addressed during our session. We will develop a plan of care based on your and your child's needs. ~After our session, you will receive an email/text with a session summary and supportive information/resources. ~Included in the cost of our session is unlimited text/email correspondence as any concerns or questions may arise for you and your baby. ~Based on our plan of care, a follow-up session via phone call or Zoom is typically recommended within 24-48 hours of initial session.
